    Melanie L. Donis, DVM

    An animal lover and rescuer from the start, Dr.Donis grew up in Orlando, Florida  and received her veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 1997. She then attended a one-yearfeline and canine internship at South Shore Animal Hospital in South Weymouth, Mass. There she focused on advancing her diagnostic and surgical skills while surrounded by a team of veterinary specialists. She moved to Southern Maryland in 1998 to work at St. Mary’s Veterinary Hospital up until the opening of Companion Care Veterinary Hospital in February of 2009. At the hospital she takes a special interest in dentistry, senior care, and greyhound medicine. After hours she works with animal rescue groups and is a founding member of Greyt Expectation Greyhound rescue.

  • Jennifer Kosich, D.V.M.

    Jennifer Kosich, D.V.M.

    Dr. Kosich joined Companion Care Veterinary Hospital in November 2009, after moving with her family form Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is excited about working here part-time and has a special love for surgery. She graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, on the campus of Virginia Tech, in 2002. She has had the opportunity to work in small animal clinics in many states thanks to her husband's job as an pilot for the marine corp. They reside in Leonardtown with her 3 children, 2 dogs and a cat.

  • Micheal Wise, D.V.M

    Micheal Wise, D.V.M

    Dr. Wise received his Bachlor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland in 1969.  He then attended the Univeristy of Illnois where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1973. Dr. Wise precticed general Veterinary Medicine from 1973 until 1978.  He decided his true passion was in radiology and attended a Radiology Residency at the University of Minnesota from 1978-1981.  He has been a Radiology / Ultrasound / and Endoscopy consultant to multiple veterinary practices in Maryland.

    Cathee Brinkley, RVT, Hospital Administrator

    Mrs. Brinkley got her start working at a veterinary hospital while still in High School. She studied Veterinary Technology at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, Virginia, graduating in 1989 with an A.A.S. Degree in Applied Science. Her focus was mainly on small animals with a special interest in artificially inseminating Bovine. She has owned and operated 2 successful pet sitting businesses, but sold them so she could focus all her energy on Companion Care Veterinary Hospital.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and horse back riding.

    Rachel Bradley, Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Rachel recently moved to Maryland with her finance from Newport News, Virginia area. She has been in the veterinary field for 7 years and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Johnson College in 2008. Outside of work her interests are spending time with family and friends and playing/coaching soccer. She loves to vacation at the Outer Banks, N.C. Rachel has 2 cats, Bella and Nala.

    Autumn Boyd - Veterinarian Technician

    Autumn is from Waldorf, Maryland and has been working in the veterinary field since 2006 years as a receptionist. She is excited to join Companion Care and gain new experiences. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Leah and playing softball. She has a 10 month old lab puppy, Abby who she rescued. She attends Argosy University Online to earn her bachelor's degree in Psychology.

    Krystal Yates - Veterinary Technician

    Krystal was born in Washington, D.C. but was raised in Puerto Rico where she was fortunate enough to learn Spanish. She has had a love for animals since was a little girl. She started working in the veterinary industry as a vet assistant in San Diego. After returning to the Washington, D.C. area she worked at the Washington Humane Society where she worked as an animal caregiver and also helped with enrichment for dogs and cats, basic training for dogs and educating the public on animal care and health. She is currently in school to obtain her Veterinarian Technician License. She is very excited to be able to put her knowledge to work and also learn with a new great team!

    Morgan Smith - Veterinary Technician

    Morgan loved animals from the day she was born so much that her first word as a child was, "dog"! She grew up in a Navy family so she never had the opportunity to have a dog until her family settled down here, in Southern Maryland. Now she has a Black Labrador Retriever named Lexi, who was adopted from Tri-County Animal Shelter. In Morgan's spare time she enjoys to travel and spend time with her friends and family. Morgan plans to go back to the College of Southern Maryland in the fall to earn her teaching degree.

    Christy Aldershoff - Receptionist

    Christy is originally from Indiana where she worked in retail management. She moved to Maryland in 2000 to be closer to her twin sister and 2 beautiful nieces. Wanting a career change and with her love of animals she then started work in the Veterinary profession. She has 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Beauty and Stitch. They are both 3 legged but they still enjoy chasing squirrels. In her free time she enjoys cooking/baking and spending time with her family and friends.

    Jennifer Rainey - Receptionist

    Jennifer is an active duty Navy spouse. She has 2 wonderful kids, and 4 great "fur" kids. She has had a love for animals all of her life. Her first job as a teenage was working for a groomer. Her parents were very sweet and kind about all the strays that she would always bring home. She had a ferret growing up that she loved and was one of the best pets she ever had.

    Wendy Downing - Grooming

    Wendy has worked with animals most of her life. She started out riding and showing horses when she was 6 years old. Once an adult she decided to work on the veterinary field and started as a receptionist. She quickly moved into the grooming field and has been grooming ever since. She absolutely loves it. She enjoys being creative and artistic working with dogs and cats. She has learned the different kinds of standard breed cuts, creativity with hair dye, and nail polish.

    Ashleigh was born and raised in Southern Maryland. She has lived on a farm her whole life and has always had a passion for animals. In her spare time she enjoys taking care of her miniature donkeys, cows, goats and 2 dogs. She graduated Leonardtown High School in 2010.
